We want to empower our children to become confident, creative, and skilled writers. Underpinned by the CLPE Power of Reading approach, our curriculum uses high-quality texts to ignite children's imaginations and foster a love for books. High-quality lessons are carefully planned to build essential skills in spelling, handwriting, grammar, and composition while inspiring a love for storytelling and effective communication.

Children have daily opportunities to write, ensuring that writing becomes an integral and natural part of their learning experience. Regular extended writing opportunities across various genres allow pupils to experiment with language, develop their own unique voices, and refine their skills in drafting, editing, and improving their work.

Writing is seamlessly integrated across the curriculum, enabling pupils to apply and develop their skills in all subjects. Whether crafting reports, recounting historical events, or recording observations in science, children are encouraged to see writing as a vital tool for expression and communication in all areas of learning.

Through regular feedback and opportunities for editing and improvement, pupils develop resilience, critical thinking, and the ability to express themselves with precision and flair.
