PE and Sports Premium
What is it?
Sports Premium money is an allocation of money given by the Government, to each school in order to encourage high quality sports provision. Each school is given a lump sum to spend on improving sport in the school. We are aiming to ensure that the funding delivers high quality Physical Education and school sport at Furzedown.
The ‘Sugar Tax’ imposed by the Government has seen the Sports Premium amounts rise significantly. Our previous amount of £8,000 plus £5 per pupil has been doubled to £16,000 plus £10 per pupil. This money is solely for schools to use in order to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE and sport they offer.
